A BIT ABOUT MY STORY
Hello! My name is Katie Gay.
Growing up, I made the most out of our 80's household camcorder (and still use it!). Whether it was to document a backyard play or to convince my parents to transfer me to a public school, I knew the camera contained a special kind of power.
Fast forward to 2016 when videography stops being a hobby and Visible Stories is born. From the beginning, I didn’t want to produce just any type of video — I wanted to tell stories. More than anything about this craft, I absolutely love the feeling I get from translating experiences and emotions into something that can be seen and felt through the screen.
Along the way, I have sought training in the specific art and science of story-centered videography through Muse Storytelling. In addition, I have completed a certificate program in Applied Storytelling through The Graduate Institute. Ten years in, I have learned a lot and am always striving to hone my skills.
The externals of a successful video will look different depending on the production type and client. However, in my opinion, the of core each video’s success is driven by the same quality—the video caused the viewer to feel something emotionally. This is what I strive for.
I love what I do. Videography isn’t just a job for me, it’s a life passion that constantly affords me the opportunity to create, connect, learn, and grow.
